SkyBridge Successfully Upgrades Oracle’s PeopleSoft Enterprise to Version 9.1 at Sonoco Products Company
MARIETTA, Georgia (October 5, 2010) – SkyBridge Global, has successfully upgraded Oracle PeopleSoft Enterprise version HCM 8.9 to version 9.1 at Sonoco Products Company (NYSE: SON), a consumer packaging company based in Hartsville, South Carolina. The PeopleSoft upgrade included the move from version 8.9 to 9.1, as well as the migration of the database from Informix to Oracle. Sonoco also upgraded their hardware in conjunction with this effort.

The effort was guided by SkyBridge’s proprietary BridgeWay project methodology and feedback from internal Sonoco stakeholders. The upgraded application and hardware will provide ongoing efficiencies for Sonoco and resulted in 30% faster run times for payroll processing. Standardization on the Oracle database will also allow Sonoco to capitalize on internal support expertise.
